Bem, acho que no fundo o comunicado não diz nada.

Enfim, é uma notícia um pouco triste, e acho que é sempre complicado substituir um vocalista, sobretudo quando ele é MUITO bom.

Homens da Luta falham final da Eurovisão [vídeo]
Apesar de todo o mediatismo, "A Luta é Alegria" ficou-se pela meia-final e não foi apurada para a final de sábado. Veja a participação dos Homens da Luta.
Portugal não vai estar presente na final da Eurovisão, no próximo fim-de-semana.

Apesar de todo o mediatismo conquistado por Neto e Falâncio na Alemanha, "A Luta é Alegria" não foi uma das dez canções mais votadas na primeira semi-final do certame.

As of today, symphonic metal band Epica has started the recordings for their 5th full-length album. This still untitled album will expectedly be released by Nuclear Blast on the 9th of March, 2012. Hoje lembrei-me que tinha vontade de ouvir estes senhores. Andei a ver se já havia novidades tantos anos depois e deparei-me com o seguinte no seu site oficial:

After a longer winter-sleep summoning is back again and ow works constantly for a new release. We promise that in the near future we will regularly update the homepage again, so it will we worth the costs to check the page in regular intervals.

The present situation of Summoning:

In the past years we have worked on new material just very rarely because of different reasons (partly personal, partly being not motivated enough) but since the last months ,we intensified the work for new material and realised, that the old spirit is back again and we are very motivated for a cool new release and we are very committed in every terms of composing.

Meanwhile there are two songs which are fix starters for the album. 4 or 5 songs are in a more advance state and we composed riffs for at least 10 or 15 songs in a very early state. Btw. we still have one finished song from the last oath bound session which also will be in one or another way. so probably this time we are in the luck situation that we have more songs left, so maybe there will be some special limited fan releases beside the normal release, but this is of course just a wish right now.

We hope that until the end of this year most of the material for the new album can be finished. In the moment we have no concrete conception about the lyrical concept. All we can say right now is, that Summoning is still alive and middle earth will awake again.

OK, isto significa que provavelmente só irá sair um álbum novo daqui a uns 2 ou 3 anos... Mas pelo menos ainda estão vivos e com interesse renovado pela banda.

P.S.: a quem ainda não conhece Summoning: vão lá ouvir a discografia, erguer um altar em sua honra e quando voltarem a ser dignos do ar que respiram digam qualquer coisa.

Full statement from the band and Anette Olzon: "Another chapter of the Nightwish story has ended today. Nightwish and Anette Olzon have decided to part company, in mutual understanding, for the good of all parties involved.

In recent times it has become increasingly obvious that the direction and the needs of the band were in conflict, and this has led to a division from which we cannot recover.

Nightwish has no intention of cancelling any upcoming shows, and as a result we have decided to bring in a substitute vocalist starting in Seattle 1.10.2012. Her name is Floor Jansen from The Netherlands (ex-After Forever, ReVamp), and she has graciously stepped in to help us complete the Imaginaerum world tour.

We are all strongly committed to this journey, this vehicle of spirit, and we are sure that this will lead to a brighter future for everyone. We forever remain excited about the adventures to come, and we are extremely proud of the two beautiful albums and the wonderful shows we shared together."

Elize Ryd (Amaranthe) and Alissa White-Gluz (The Agonist) stepped in for Anette this past Friday night (September 28th) at the Ogden Theatre, Denver, because Olzon was forced to spend the night at a local hospital. The singer later stated on her blog: "I was never asked if it was ok they used Elise and Alica in the show last night. I don't think it's a good decision they made and I'm sorry for those of you who came to see the whole band but got something else. But I was very ill and this decision wasn't mine."
